Ongoing Wharf Stoppages Disrupt Operations

Please be advised of ongoing industrial action at major Australian wharf terminals, which is causing significant delays to container movements.

Melbourne

  • November 27 – December 11:
    • Two-hour stoppages starting at 4:00 AM, 12:00 PM, and 8:00 PM each day
    • Eight-hour work stoppage after ship docks
    • Bans on overtime, extensions, call-ins, and upgrades
  • November 28:
    • Ten-hour ban on loading and unloading trucks from 4:00 AM to 2:00 PM
  • December 1-2:
    • 24-hour ban on loading and unloading trucks from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM
  • December 5-7:
    • 48-hour ban on loading and unloading trucks from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM
  • December 8-9:
    • 24-hour ban on loading and unloading trucks from 4:00 AM to 6:00 AM

Brisbane

  • November 28:
    • Maritime Union of Australia (MUA) authorized stop work meeting from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM
    • Last slots for both Patricks & VICT on Tuesday will be 8am and first slots back will be 3pm

    • One-hour stoppages of work from 5:00 AM to 6:00 AM, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, and 9:00 PM to 10:00 PM each day
  • November 27 – 28:
    • 24-hour stoppage of work starting at 6:00 AM on Monday and ending at 2:00 PM on Tuesday
  • November 28 – 29:
    • Ban on loading and unloading trucks and trains starting at 6:00 AM on Tuesday and ending at 6:00 AM on Wednesday
  • November 30 – December 1:
    • Ban on loading and unloading trucks and trains starting at 6:00 AM on Thursday and ending at 6:00 AM on Friday
